Clarksburg Flood Risk Reduction Meeting

Tuesday, March 19 • 4-6 PM • Clarksburg Community Church

Please join the Clarksburg Small Community Flood Risk Reduction study team on Tuesday, March 19th 4 pm to 6 pm at the Clarksburg Community Church to review and determine the best alternative to protect Clarksburg from flooding.

Here is some background: Yolo County has applied for a Small Communities Flood Risk Reduction Grant for the Clarksburg community.  This grant process starts with a feasibility report that evaluates strategies to reduce flood risk in Clarksburg.  These include both structural and non-structural components such as a ring levee, existing levee improvements, elevating homes or getting some kind of relief from FEMA insurance rates.  The outcome of the feasibility study will be to determine an action that the community can implement.  Implementation of the strategy will come in a second round of grant funds.  We have a great team working on this study consisting of folks from HDR, Douglas Environmental, LWA, and MBK.  In order to make this study a success (and something we can actually implement) we need input and buy-in from you, the community.

Please pass this along to your fellow community members.  Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or would like more information.
